Vandaag, 3 mei 2010, is de reactie van de Australische regering op het vorig jaar verschenen rapport van de Taskforce Government 2.0 verschenen.

De meeste aanbevelingen van de Taskforce worden opgevolgd, soms met enige wijziging. Er komt geen aparte agency voor Govt 2.0, wel een stuurgroep (waarin o.a. de Australische National Archives).

Belangrijk de principe uitspraken:

Agency activity implementing Web 2.0 technologies into their everyday business practices will be important if the government is to embed Government 2.0 cultural change in agencies.

Australian Government agencies should therefore enable a culture that gives their staff opportunity to experiment and develop new opportunities for online engagement. Australische National Archives).
