This wiki is meant to present in an accessible form some general information about tools for capturing social media content. The focus is on practical and user-friendly presentation of the software and its features.
This wiki is based on the results of the social media archiving tools research that was conducted initially between 2019 and 2020, and subsequently in 2021, at the International Institute of Social History with the support of the Netwerk Digitaal Erfgoed.
The contents of the wiki are a revision and where needed, an update, of the reports produced out of this research into social media archiving tools, and the aim is to keep the wiki as a living resource to be continuously extended and improved, hopefully not only by the principal investigators but also by the wider Dutch web and social media archiving community.
The goal of this wiki is to assist professionals working mainly but not exclusively at cultural heritage organizations to select appropriate tools for social media archiving.
